Holidays, Mountaineering, Tropical Islands, Vacations
The story really is the same: We go through terrible traffic and noise each Christmas season in Ghana, and end up stressed about the excess pocket costs in Accra. It’s time to do something different this year, which is why we are happy to propose a yo-ho-ho Christmas expedition to Survival Island –  complete with santa clause, elf and special costumes, and without the bottle of rum (of course) ;-).

We’ll leave the Accra Mall at 6PM on December 24, and drive some 2-and-a-half hours to the Volta Gorge area. The first leg of the adventure will involve taking on a series of forested hills to get to Survival Beach. We’ll deploy from there to the Isle of Rocks for the access pass to Survival Island. The rest of the weekend will be spent exploring all Lake Volta’s congregated islands and living the life of modern-day Explorers on Survival Island on this final open kayaking expedition of the 2019 adventure season.

Adventure dates: December 24-26, 2019.
Price: 599-GHS
Departure location: Accra Mall Car Park
Departure time: 6.00PM

What to Pack: A 20-litre backpack, a pair of outdoor walking sandals, good hiking shoes, a cap or hat, 2 water bottles, 3 sets of outdoor clothing – including a t-shirt and a pair of shorts, one sleeping bag and mat, wash kit – small towel, sponge and soap, toiletries, 1 plate or bowl for meals, a tube of insect repellent, torchlight and spare batteries, and a box of matchsticks, plus the costumes.

Mountaineering, Weekend Tours
This December 1, 2019 hiking and abseil adventure begins at the foot of the Manya Krobo hills. A 1.6km assault will get everyone’s heart pumping until we get to the highest peak on that side of the outcrops. We will have to shinny down the rockface in order to get to the 40m Katanga Rock. Our fearless modern-day Explorers will strap into climbing gear and equipment, abseil the face of the rock and discover the Greatness within them. The final onslaught will be an easy descent to the Akuse plains for the celebratory photos and bonding time.

A ticket costs GHC 399-GHS each and covers your transport, food, water, refreshments, guiding services and photography. Deadline for bookings is November 29, 2018. Call or WhatsApp 054-842-4903 for more information.
